Coral + Pink: Polyvore Picks

As I mentioned in the previous post, I've been loving on the J. Crew's Spring/Summer 2012 Lookbook, mainly due to the pairing of peaches & coral with shades of bright pink.  The combo is as springy and as poppy as can be.  Can we fast forward through the dreary February days, puhleez???  Here are my Polyvore picks + some nice neutral pieces to balance out your Spring fever.  Happy Monday!

Coral + Pink

Lately, I've been inspired by some of J. Crew's color palettes for Spring/Summer.  Especially, combining shades of pink with shades of peach and coral.  It just works.  It screams Spring time.  Also, note to self, must find some peachy lipstick!  Check back later for a Polyvore collage of my coral and pink picks.  Coming soon!

Perhaps a Peplum?

Peplums are back I hear.  From what I keep reading about Spring trends.  'What the hell is a peplum?' you say.  A peplum is a short overskirt that is usually attached to a fitted jacket, shirt or dress.  (thanks wikipedia)  Huh. Neat.  I like this one.

And how freaking amazing is this YSL vintage peplum skirt??? Like whoa. I want to drink bubbly and pick flowers just looking at it.

ModCloth's down with the peplum, too.

One more.  Alice + Olivia's precious purple peplum picked a party party!

Alright, ladies.  I'm peplum-ed out.  However, I think I'm sold on these ruffly little ditties.  They are the perfect marriage of sexy+structure+flirty. They're kiiiinda special.

Be Dewy, Dollface

Hi!  Oh Hi!  Today I'm sharing some of my most favorite beauty products.  These are my go-to prettifiers.  Mostly, I like to feel fresh and dewy...and a good moisturizer is my most essential requirement.  Kate Somerville is the creme de la awesomeness.  I'm obsessed. I've been hooked on her products ever since I first moved to LA.  I alternate between her 'Nourish' moisturizer and the 'Deep Tissue Repair'.  The 'Deep Tissue Repair' costs a pretty penny, but I only use it during the winter months because my skin freaks out and I'm like a dry lizard.  'Nourish' smells delightful and it will take all the willpower you possess not to rub it all over your body.  It's so creamy and wonderful.  For serious.  The Bio-Oil I use on my bod and sometimes even on my face (see lizard note above).  It absorbs quickly and leaves you ultra-dewy.

Cheeks: Jemma Kidd cheek ID is so cutie and perky and pinky.  Love.  I've used it on my cheeks and lips and it's the perfect shade of dollface pink. Then I like to highlight my cheekbones and along the bridge of my nose with the shimmery Nars stick.  It gives a little pop while still keeping the dewy.  Did I mention I like dewy?

So now that you're moisturized and pink-cheeked, coat your lashes in Fresh's Supernova mascara.  It is the best mascara I've ever used!  So inky and thick.  Go get you some.

The Maybelline Baby Lips is a new love of mine.  Just found it at the drugstore one day.  I first bought the Quench shade and then quickly went back and bought Pink Punch and Cherry Me.  It's just a good balmy consistency and the Cherry Me gives ya some sweet red tint.

Hope you enjoy!  Happy moisturizing!

Sarah Jessica Parker: Pretty in Pink-Tough in Leather.

I love this whole look.  I saw it on two different sites today, Go Fug Yourself and Just Jared (my daily guilty indulgences of all things celebrities, fashion disasters and gossip-y goodnesses...don't judge me...once you go there you'll be hooked too).

Back to SJP's look she donned at the 2012 amFAR New York Gala.  It's a mix of classic, pretty princess meets edgy, cool chick.  I love it to bits.  Oscar de la Renta dress + Theyskens Theory leather jacket = Pure fun and elegance.  Oh and the teensy white gloves!  Adorable.

Victoria Victoria Beckham SS12

This collection is just darling.  The classic shapes and lines of Victoria's dresses are making me dizzy with joy.  They are fun, simple and clean.  No accessorizing needed.  Just put in a spunky pony tail, throw on some heels and get out the door.  The prints are whimsical and light....there are scallops, kitty cats and clouds with sparkly raindrops.  Sparkly raindrops! What fun!
