Nicole at Breeders Cup....

I just found these pictures.  I love this entire get-up.  I would fly away in that cape.  And those shoes.....mmmm.  Yes. Yes.  I wonder who makes that cape swing coat thingy.  I really want to cut that string/cord off though.  Bugging me.

Ruby Reds

Some of the most prestigious shoe-makers in the world have reinterpreted the ruby slippers from the Wizard of Oz.  To celebrate the musical's 70th anniversary, designers like Christian Louboutin, Manolo Blahnik and Sergio Rossi have collaborated on some inventive red sparklies!!! I am loving the Moschino's.

**Also,  for all the locals Sergio Rossi on Little Melrose is going out of business....all merch marked waaaaay off starting November 26th.  Yikes!

Hooray Say the Roses by Charles Bukowski

hooray say the roses, darkness comes
all at once, like the lights gone out,
the sun leaves dark continents
and rows of stone.

hooray say the roses, cannons and spires,
birds, bees, bombers, today is FRIDAY
the hand holding a medal out the window,
a moth going by, half a mile an hour,
hooray hooray
hooray say the roses
we have empires on our stems
the sun moves the mouth:
hooray hooray hooray
and that is why you like us.

Big Gimme

**sigh**

Available at Lush Life Antiques--an eclectic collection of vintage pieces.

LBDeeeeeez!!

The detailing!  The ruffles!  The petals!  The poof!!!  Oh the Poof!  I would dance.  I would sing. I would leap into the arms of a strange handsome man (his name is Joe).  I would make him spin me round and round and round....however, he would definitely do so carefully as to not spill his drink on me.

Texture tickles my fancy.

Classics are Staple

The classic styles have always been a favorite of mine because of their timelessness.  As well as versatility; you can take a classic black shift dress from day to night with a quick shoe and accessory swap out.  Bust out the red lipstick and some sparklers and you are out the door, Missy.

D&G Dolce and Gabbana Organza Puff Dress $825
K Karl Lagerfeld Celine Shift Dress $435
Marc Jacobs Belted Wrap $995
MCQ Jacquard Strapless $430
Oscar de la Renta Silk Faille $4990

Gimme the Oscar de la Renta....just because...it's amazing....and I'd freakin' dust the house in that thing if I could....she works hard for the money.

Feminine LBD's

So beginning my search for the perf LBD's, I of course started at Net-a-Porter.  Search no more, my darlings!!!  There was an abundance of sexy, playful, elegant and stunning dresses to choose from.  Now, Net-a-Porter is the world's premier online luxury fashion retailer....which translates to: not everyone can afford it.  However, you must appreciate the beauty and artfulness with which each fantastic dress is made.  I will later post more affordable LBD's.  For now though, drool over these peu de robe noire!

First up, my playful, flirty, skip to the loo picks: (left to right)
Preen Power Bandage Dress $1295
Mint Jodi Arnold Greta Silk $540
Notte by Marchesa $695
Rebecca Taylor Lace&Ruffles $340
Hanii Y Sequined Shift $755

Being the poofy fan that I am, I heart the Mint dress.  Corset Top + Killer Poofy = Cocktail parties BEWARE!!!

LBD

Inspired by Jennifer Connelly's Marie Claire spread in the December issue, I will do some searching and post tomorrow on the bestest most fantastic Little Black Dresses of the season. Yay holidays!!!

For now enjoy the gorgeous pictures of Ms. Connelly.  She looks rather amazing.  I covet her long slick ponytail and smokey eyes.

ricochet-shiny toy guns

let the sweat fall
find me in the back stall
let it snow down
now we're gonna deck halls
i hit the bullseye
making all the boys cry
i hit the main line
breaking through the night sky

like a bullet, meant to be shot
you're the target
dead on the spot
when i focus, i never miss
it starts with a kiss

Audrey=Coco

Adorable cutie-pie Audrey Tautou plays Coco Chanel!! The film is being shot in Paris and Normandy, and will feature iconic Chanel dresses. Catherine Leterrier is designing the costumes with Karl Lagerfeld's oversight. OMG...I can't wait.

If I ever have a little girl, she will be named Eva Coco.

What's In My Bag...

Haven't done this since I first started this Blog...here goes:

checkered Henri Skov scarf, Vogue mag(very heavy!), work schedule, Paramount Studios i.d. badge, 2 samples of Kate Somerville nourish cream(yay! forgot about those), red change purse with quarters for meters, small moleskin, wallet, rental car reservation print out, Sugar lip treatment, Lipstick Queen Medieval tint, Burt's Bees balm, Labello star fruit chapstick(OMG--I have a lot of gloss up in here!!!), 2 sharpies, 3 pens, 1 safety pin, 4 loose bobbi pins, 2 pennies, hand sanitizer, small hair clip, hot pink bluetooth earpiece that I've never worn,  La Mer eye cream, 5 packets of Stevia, 1 band-aid(clean one!), Blackberry, yoga schedule, 2 Dove dark chocolate squares(yay! forgot about those too!!), 2 paystubs, a button, gold hoop earrings, and a Chanel ad I ripped out of a magazine at the Doctor's office...it smells good.  That's it.

Needless to say---heavy.

The Row: by Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen

Ahhh. I love this so much.

Kiki's Search for the Perfect Tee

Kiki needs some help finding a white tee.  Here are some of my favorite brands.  I personally own several LA Made t-shirts and wear them to death.  I have a really thin Rebecca Beeson short sleeve tee that's pictured in my Twinsies post, but it's several seasons old and I haven't been able to find a similar one in her new collections.  Too bad because I would purchase like 3 of them!!!  James Perse tees are super soft and come in various lengths which is always helpful.
A cheapie you can buy is from Delia's.  Get 2 because you will want to dig it out of your dirty hamper and wear everyday.

And the mother of all tees of course, comes from the Olsen's.  I've only had the pleasure of touching this beaut at Barney's.  I rubbed it's soft fabric between my fingers and let out a slow sigh of utter love.  Sooo soft, yet sturdy.  With the right bra, my girls would look fantastic in this ferrari of white tees.  Yummy.  The price is redunkulous, however.  I would surely dribble gobs of mustard all over it within a single wear and then cry myself to sleep for weeks.

****THE ROW*** the most perf tee in the world, but it's like a car payment....yikes!!!

1. LA Made Shirred V-neck $28
2. Alternative Flutter Sleeve $24
3. James Perse Classic Mini V-neck $50
4. Splendid Jersey Tee $46
5. Delia's Mia Slub Tee $19.50
6. Theory Scoop neck $65
